An interesting childhood incident was extracted in the soon-to-be-released biography of Argentine international and Spain’s FC Barcelona striker Lionel Messi.
The extract recalls that, “Messi was just 1.25 meters [4 feet 1 inch] tall [at the time], and was sent flying whenever he collided with the kids of his age,” AS quotes.
The book reveals that the young Messi suffered deep distress as he dealt with his childhood growth issues, asking his doctor Diego Schwarzstein: “Am I going to grow enough to be able to play football?”
“He was fearful of being told he couldn’t be happy, because he could only be happy if he was playing football. He tried to read the doctor’s lips in anticipation of the response, until he finally heard what he wanted to be told: ‘You will be taller than Maradona,’” AS quotes
Messi also talk about his experience in Argentina team, he was shamed by his teammates, because he is god in Barcelona, but he can't take Argentina to win a world cup. They sang national anthem before Messi because Messi didn't sing before the game. They thought Messi didn't try to play well, he is selfish, he want to protect him from hurt.
Messi said he felt guilty due to his performance, moreover, his teammates also attacked me. "That make me very sad."
